If I could redo...

If I could redo my living room... (which I would never do since it took me a year to finish it. PLUS my boyfriend would have a cow if he knew I had other plans for our new living room) ...here is what I would choose..

I love this Ikat rug from Anthropologie. I love color and this rug is definitely not lacking in that department.

I would also add this great leather chair, also from Anthropologie.

For an unexpected flare I would add this pendant light over the coffee table or in the corner between the sofa and the green leather chair.

For the sofa, I would choose something subtle like this one from Pottery Barn.

Since one of my newly acquired obesssions is reclaimed wood, I would love this coffee table in my living room. I think it would look really nice with the Ikat rug.

To finish the room I would add a few colored pillows, possibly red, and some candles on the table. And there you have it! My dream living room. It is funny because it looks nothing like what I currently have in my space. I swear my style changes weekly.

i LOVE Frye

So Victoria's Secret still has the Frye Matilda Boot at regular price. Have no fear...you can always count on Shop Bop to have them on sale for over $100 dollars less than VS! I might have to order them in red AND brown.

Now if I could only find the Thomas Wylde Skull Warrior Boots for the same price and in my size my life would be complete!

Is Anything Better?

Than the thought of one day living here...

I must love Stripes

I think I have a soft spot for stripes... I'm heading to the re-use center in a couple hours since everything is half off. I'm hoping to find an old dresser that I can convert into a bathroom vanity...I might just have to paint it with stripes like this one

Or this one from decor pad

On My Mind

I love this striped wallpaper. I'm thinking of maybe adding a bookshelf at the bottom of my steps and using this in the little nook.

I'm also loving this unique chalk board table top idea. I don't have any children at the moment, but will keep this in the back of my mind for when the time comes to get them to eat their vegetables. So cool!

Home Tiling Project

This summer we decided to transform our hideous porch into a place we would want to spend time in. Whoever installed this lovely green carpet should never be allowed to make design decisions again. Here are the before pictures...

Here is the porch after...

We used neutral color tile to compliment the wood furniture we already had. I decided to forgo my original plan of paining the furniture white and weathering it to look antiqued, which I think was the right decision. All the tile was done by us with the help of family. Tiling is actually not as bad as I thought!

We also took an old trunk that my great grandparents used for storing their belongings when the came over on a boat from Sweden. Someday we will put a tv out here and entertain our friends. I of course need to finish sewing the cushions for the furniture before that happens!

On my project list

Part of my next home improvement project will involve making a similar bar to this one pictured. I was originally searching mercury glass table lamps on google and came across this awesome bar and just had to have it. It won't be done for a long time, but it is on my list.
